We Have Met the Cure Fan and He Is Us

I’ve been listening to a lot of Pandora Radio lately and it seems to think I like the Cure, which it has been serving up regularly. What’s worse, I find that I actually do like it.

Pandora Radio: It makes you face the awful truth about yourself.

    You know what I always loved about Robert Smith? You could rarely understand him. He and Porl Thompson (and Perry Bamonte and about 7 or 8 other guys at various other points in time) always came up with really nice guitar stuff. Dave Navarro usually cites Robert Smith and Daniel Ash from Love and Rockets as among his favorites for what they did in the course of the song, as well as for what they didn’t do. Hey, you should type in Love and Rockets and see what pops up in one of your Pandora stations.

    Love and Rockets, eh? I’ll do that right now..

    The Cure gets served up on my New Order station.. it also gives me a lot of stuff like depeche mode and talking heads.. it gives me a very nostalgic feeling.
